Dang-shen is used much like ginseng. In traditional Chinese medicine, the root and leaves are used to speed the healing and reduce inflammation of wounds. Also used daily to treat anemia, asthma, exhaustion, gastroenteritis, indigestion, and diabetes. Can be added to soups with astragalus and shiitake mushrooms.
